Bromley FC Kit
Kappa kit design and merchandise
Introduction
In June 2022 I had the opportunity to design Bromley FC’s next kit
Goal
Appeal to fans’ casual wear and professional athletes’ on pitch performance. Embrace Bromley’s history and Kappa’s brand and technology, to generate revenue for the club.
Role
Solo project, I was responsible for research, design and the vision for marketing and launch of the kit.
Research
Fans wish third kits to be bold and vibrant, it’s a club’s chance to take a risk and try something different year on year.
Kappa are renowned in the history of sport technology with their Kombat fit kits. Supporters however often feel these shirts are unsuitable for casual wear due to the tighter athletic fit.
With David Bowie, H.G.Wells and Emma Raducanu… Bromley has a rich history of music, culture and sport
Inspired by Bowie
I embraced David Bowie’s Bromley legacy and his Ziggy Stardust persona, which he created while living in the area.
I began experimenting with the iconic Bowie Bolt, taken from his 1973 album cover Aladdin Sane and would go on to produce 30 iterations with differing pattern and colour.
Green & Blue
In the local Bromley library I stumbled across this jacket of David’s, hand-customised by himself with blue cartridge ink on a green corduroy. I reimagined his green and blue pairing as teal and navy, a nod to a fellow local creating his own garments.
This jacket was worn by Bowie in his first band the Konrads and decorated by his own fair hand with stripes of blue cartridge ink.
Marketing & Success
To promote the kit I arranged for it to be featured on The Athletic’s Tifo YouTube channel during the World Cup. The kit had in incredibly successful launch, selling out both online and in the club shop.
- 79,000+
- YouTube views
- Sold out
- In the club shop and online

This is amazing to read! Congratulations on being selected, thanks for feeling that we played a role in helping you succeed.

DUDE, that’s awesome!
